Seems the EEA advocates think that EEA countries do not contribute to the EU budget. This is wrong. Check this link from the Norwegian Governments own pages:

Norway contributes to the EU budget in three major fields: to reduce social nd economic disparities, to take part in EU programmes (Horizon2020, Erasmus+, Galileo, Copernicus), and the Schengen cooperation.

Norway and other EEA countries’ contributions to the EU programmes (Horizon2020, Erasmus+, Galileo, Copernicus) are on foot with full member states.
There is no taking part in EU programmes without contributions to the budget.

For the budget period 2014 to 2020 Norway’s average annual contributions to the EU programmes will be 447 million euros.

This reminds me of a rabid Brexiter I met a few weeks ago. He was so furious about UK being excluded from Galileo since it was founded by UK research. But he wanted no more money paid into the EU budget.

In Norway PM Gro Harlem Brundtland, who had campaigned for #Norway to join EU, stayed on her post so that she could negotiate an outcome as many as possible could accept. She went for #compromise and managed to unite a split country. 🇳🇴
PS. Gro Harlem Brundtland made an international career after she left Norwegian politics. I don’t agree with her politically, but she deserves respect. 🇳🇴

2/11 One voice. When new legal acts are added to the EEA Agreement, the EFTA states speaks with one voice. UK will therefore have a veto over Norway and vice versa. N and UK share interests in many areas, but disagree in some important areas. 8000 + legal acts have been added.

1 What happens to EU citizens resident in the UK in the event of no deal?

Nobody knows of course and nobody in government is prepared to say (see eg or ).
2 The bad news is that we've had @Nigel_Farage basically suggesting we should deport EU citizens living here if there's no deal: (see )

(1/7) If #EEA & #EFTA were the ‘worst of both worlds’ they’re often portrayed as, why would 4 successful countries stay in them, despite the opportunity to leave or join the EU? Some quick myth busting:
(2/7) 1. EFTA countries take only 20-30% of EU legislation, excluding most contentious areas like Common Agricultural Policy, and Justice & Home Affairs 2. EU legislation that EFTA does take on primarily concerns standardisation necessary for a single market.
(3/7) The vast majority of this legislation is written by expert bodies, not MEPs, which EFTA countries have just as much input into as EU countries. Similar to what would happen in a trade deal 3. EFTA countries pay less to the EU, and have more control of it.

The EU's guidelines for transition would mean all the obligations but no representation for the UK in the first 21 months after #Brexit.

More strikingly, it would put it in a worse position than Norway in terms of sovereinty. Here are five striking differences:
1. For every EU law, the EEA decides whether it has 'EEA relevance', i.e. for the single market. If not, or only partially, EEA countries only have to adopt it partially or not at all.

The UK will have to accept all EU law during transition, even if it is not relevant to the SM
2. EEA countries can agree with the EU on derogations when implementing EU law, e.g. geographical application, institutionals adjustments, exceptions.

No of EEA derogations until 2012:
Norway: 55
Iceland: 349
Liechtenstein: 1056

No option for derogations foreseen for the UK.

Frustrating to see BBC journalists, Remainers & others believing/saying this £40bn is some additional bill for leaving.

It’s not. It’s settling costs we would’ve paid in EU anyway. Get it right.

Facts matter, people. You can’t just say “we’re paying £40bn for Brexit” as if we would not have paid this money if we voted Remain. It’s commitments we signed up to - and a chunk is for Single Market access, science, etc bringing considerable returns.
The supposed dividend of Brexit (£350m/week) was false. But let’s put it in easier terms:

All countries commit 1% of GDP to EU budget. With UK - about half of that is returned in obvious payments.

That means that if Brexit costs more than 0.5% GDP - it’s a money-loser.
