18/ Spoke too soon, looks like they are moving ahead with the fork.

"As of today, all Nebulous (the company employing sia's core developers) and Obelisk employees are supportive of a fork,"

Really bad decision. Extremely shortsighted.

19/ "the Sia core team has decided to reset the Sia Proof-of-Work function to brick the Bitmain and Innosilicon hardware"

"Innosilicon is Sia’s largest miner, mining a stable 37.5% of the Sia hashrate."

Sia devs just shot themselves in the foot. 🤦‍♂️

20/ "We like to see high availability of hardware. Ideally, the best hardware in the world is available to everyone easily, and any deals that are presented by manufacturers to some group are also made available broadly."

This move will do the opposite.
21/ The idea that the "community" supports this fork is ridiculous. Are miners not part of the community? Are hardware manufacturing companies not part of the community? No way half the mining community supports bricking their own hardware. The numbers speak for themselves.
22/ Miners & hw manufacturers have to make substantial long term investments in their biz. Fucking with their rev projections, bricking their hardware, & having the dev team compete w/ them directly will all discourage mining investment.

Result is a centralized insecure network.
23/ This will be a great case study one day.

"David Vorick, founder and CEO of Nebulous announced the release of code version 1.3.6 in sia's official channel on Discord Tuesday, reminding miners that the hard fork will be activated on Oct. 31."
