When possible, software eats the world starting at the obvious entry point: maps become interactive, commerce goes online.

In the presence of anti-competitive restrictions, confused startups pile up at the entry point: taxi hailing apps before Uber, digital music before Spotify.
When anti-competitive restrictions block obvious entry points for software, market correcting startups have to expose the inefficiency to consumers. Uber refused to shutdown until consumers knew what they could have. Napster showed us we could have music at our fingertips.
To overcome anti-competitive hurdles like Uber, you need an Uber-sized war chest. Compared to Uber, p2p file sharing corrected the music market with relatively little money. This may be decentralization’s market: a corrector of distorted markets, liberator of the consumer surplus
