Yesterday I watched the Mr. Rogers documentary. It was emotional—his show was a big part of my childhood. I hope anyone hurting over where and what America is right now will watch that film and remember there's still courage and honor in us. McCain's death reminds me of that too.
2/ Before anyone asks: I know the voting record. I'm saying there's a way one can comport oneself while exercising one's right to have political views at cross purposes with mine that has honor and integrity to it, and there's a way that is without honor. We can all see that now.
Here's a trailer for the Mr. Rogers documentary. I know there are many ways to honor McCain's memory; for me this is a good option. Just taking a moment to remember it's not too late for America—no matter what folks of all political stripes are saying now.
