Can anyone recommend a good contacts manager app for iOS & OS X please?
Ideally including de-dupe, integration with google account. Must have very very strong privacy.
I find the built in one a bit clunky, but anything else seems to be data harvesting or a bit OTT. Thanks!
Wow, saw an online review for @FullContact. Reviewed their privacy policy, and am not going near that app even with a HazMat suit on. If you have it on your devices, delete it immediately!!
I just want an app that lets me manage my own contacts, not that’s hoarding data centrally
I think pretty much everyone in Europe is going to need to file a subject access request to @FullContact as your details are likely to be in their database, even if you’ve never used it, because of the way they harvest data. Very very bad practice

For those who followed my thread on the IOD spinning survey results about Brexit to support May’s deal... it turns out they sent that press release out TWO WEEKS before the survey had even finished!! It closes Nov 30th!!
...sure enough, I dig back into my emails to find the survey invitation I was sent, and it confirms the closing date is 30th Nov...

Morning campers! I’ll be live-tweeting from the European Court of Justice today about @Google’s “Right to be Forgotten” hearing.

What’s the main point? Should Europe (or France’s #privacy regulator) be able to apply its rules over the internet worldwide.

A recap:
La Vanguardia, a Spanish newspaper, published records in the late 1990s detailing the debt delinquencies of Mario Costeja.

About a decade later, Costeja sued, saying that the publication breached his right to privacy.
After a lengthy legal dispute, the case was referred to the ECJ which, in 2014, ruled that individuals had the right to ask that search engines like @Google remove links (but not the underlying webpages) from search results

En fait, j'ai toujours été militant, et une de mes préoccupations, c'est la défense du droit à la vie privée. Et puis un jour pendant ma thèse, je suis tombé sur le site de l'équipe @PrivaticsInria… Du coup j'avais vachement envie de bosser avec elleux !
De l'extérieur, ça semble vraiment être une équipe de gens qui se soucient de la #privacy, je veux dire que c'est pas juste un application de leur sujet technique de recherche, c'est vraiment ce qui les motives, socialement. (Spoiler : de l'intérieur aussi !).
