To read this piece you would never know there was such a thing as a court of appeal, or that govts had any recourse to them to revisit a wonky lower court ruling.

So many other bizarre assumptions underlying this: that Toronto council is any more “dysfunctional” than most elected bodies; that it would be the job of the province, as opposed to voters, to “fix” it if it were; that cutting council in half would do anything to achieve this...
... that this was such an emergency it had to be done in time for this elexn, though the campaign was already under way; or that any of this nonsense actually had anything to do with Ford’s actions. And that’s before you even get to his use of notwithstanding to push it thru....
It’s all just automatically, unquestioningly accepted, if it is even examined at all.
