1) My father lied about his age to fight in WWII. His sister told me the story of how he saved a young Mexican girl from being gang raped. He was 15, they were older. He walked her home to safety. When I asked him about the story he said it was just the right thing to do.
2) He quit high school when he was 16 to work for his mother and his siblings. The home she died in, he built for her when he was 16, before he went off to war.
3) He was a City Councilman for his small town. He was on the volunteer fire department, would often jump out of bed in the middle of the night to fight a fire and work the next day without complaint.
4) I never ever once knew him to lie, gamble or be inappropriate with anyone. He treated people with respect and dignity.
5) And I bet nearly everyone who is reading this can say similar things about their dad.
6) What I do not understand is how in this vastly populated nation, we have come to a place where we have the most morally corrupt man, any of us has ever even heard about, as our President.
7) And he is being allowed, while under investigation, to nominate a Supreme Court Judge. And instead of nominating a man like my dad, or presumably like your dad, the Republicans are on the cusp of confirming a very flawed man. Why? <end>
