Reading this it suggests the President will issue a Proclamation barring asylum from any aliens that do not present themselves at a port of entry — bye bye Caravan

South and North Korea agreed to a pair of "denuclearization" measures in the Pyongyang Joint Declaration -- dismantlement activities at Sohae (Tonchang-ri) and Yongbyon. There are some technical aspects to both that might inform our discussion. (1/17)

Pompeo hops over to Tokyo to brief SK & Japanese foreign ministers (Kang Kyung-hwa and Tarō Kōno) re his discussions with NK reps. Describes the method of denuclearizing NK as FFVD (Final, Fully-verified denuking) once again and claims NK has agreed to it

The US, SK & Japan stand together to achieve FFVD, the new moniker for denuking NK which has been "agreed to" by KJU. That's Pompeo's response to detractors who say his trip didn't accomplish much. He reminds them that NK did affirm FFVD.
Pompeo must like breadbaskets full of rolls made with US wheat (real gluten flour) and heavy dairy creamer for his coffee. Plus Western translators. SK's Foreign Minister Kang doesn't need one; she used to be one and did some translating for Ban Ki-moon

US ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim is back in Panmunjom to confer with NK diplomat Choe Son-hui. Per JA, the two met for an hour on July 1 to discuss Pompeo's expected trip to Pyongyang on July 6 and issues related to transferring MIA-POW remains

Sung Kim and his team arrived in Seoul last week. JoongAng reporting that Kim asked Choe for a preliminary accounting of nuclear programs. JA thinks Sung Kim's return from the Philippines suggests he may soon be formally tapped for a post responsible for negotiating with NK

On Trump's statement after meeting with KJU: the North offered to destroy a major missile engine test site. But the question now is which one? Here are our options
1. Sohae (39.652837, 124.713995) North Korea tests most of its liquid fuel engine here - it is the largest engine test stand in the country and is located at North Korea's main satellite launch facility.
2. Tonghae (40.852424, 129.679842) North Korea's first missile test site and the location where we got names like Nodong, Taepodong, and Musudan for their missiles. According to @Shea_Cotton there have been no launches here since 2009.

No, North Korea’s nuclear test mountain did not collapse. (A note in place of the short thread I will write after I drop my children at school.)
Ok, bottom-line up front: The reporting has been mostly hot garbage -- except the @JNBPage story. The mountain did not collapse and there is no evidence that it is unusable. I checked an image from @planetlabs dated April 25. The mountain is still there. 😀 1/8
We know the 9/2017 nuclear test really shook the mountain -- we worked with @Airbus to analyze Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images to determine that it subsided. I imagine the aftershocks displaced more rock. 2/8
