We published lists for BTC and BCH communities and updated ETH list. We also extended the general crypto list to 500 rows.

They are live on hive.one

We spent weeks analyzing these communities. Here are some of the things we learned. Thread 👇
The most influential people in crypto communities tend to be protocol developers and cryptographers.

They are usually followed by the most successful founders and well-known 'whales', who hold a significant portion of an overall supply of a given coin.
Bitcoin has the largest and the oldest community. It’s not a surprise, since the crypto list has been dominated by this community.

Having influence in BTC cluster will give one a higher position in the general crypto list than having equal influence in a smaller sub-cluster.
Influence is the least concentrated with the leaders of the Bitcoin community of all four subclusters we investigated.

hive.one/bitcoin

This can probably be attributed to the fact that it’s been around so long and that the founder remain anonymous.
The most influential people in the Bitcoin community are protocol developers and cryptographers.

#1 @adam3us
#2 @pwuille
#3 @peterktodd
#4 @lopp
#5 @TheBlueMatt

This is a general trend we see with most communities around coins.
2/3 most influential people in crypto belong to Bitcoin subcluster: @aantonop (#1) and @NickSzabo4 (#3)

They rank lower in the Bitcoin than in the general list (#10 & #8). This indicates that they are thought leaders for a broader community than just Bitcoin.
Ethereum follows the same pattern as Bitcoin: the most influential members of its community are protocol developers, @vitalikbutterin (#1) and @vladzamfir (#2).

hive.one/ethereum

Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum has a clear leader. Vitalik's score is much higher than Vlad's.
In Ethereum @ethereumjoseph #3 ranked higher than @gavofyork #4 despite not being a developer or cryptographer.

This is likely to be attributed to the fact he is one of the largest holders of $ETH and runs @consensys. It has dozens of Ethereum-related projects.
We also mapped Ripple. However, while collecting feedback from this community we met with hostility and requests to be removed.

It's the first time we encountered this, so we decided not to publish the list for the time being.

However, we're going to share some insights:
The most influential members of XRP community are current and past employees of @ripple.

It’s current (@joelkatz #1) and its former CTO (@justmoon #2) are the most influential members of the community. Ripple’s CEO, @bgarlinghouse is #3.
The most influential pseudonymous account in XRP community is @Hodor7777.

Our guess is that it's also the most influential non-employee of @ripple in this community (we can only guess since it’s a pseudonymous account).
There is more concentration of influence at the top in the Ripple community than in Ethereum.

@JoelKatz has proportionally more influence in Ripple than @VitalikButerin in Ethereum.

However, in the middle of the two lists, this trends reverses.
Bitcoin Cash is the only community where the most influential person is not a developer or cryptographer.

hive.one/bitcoin-cash

@rogerver ranked #1, he is followed by @gavinadresen (#2) and @jihanwu (#3)

Interestingly, Jihan also ranked high in BTC cluster.
BCH and BTC communities have a peculiar relationship. These communities have a common root but are openly hostile to each other.

Sometimes, members of both switch sides. When this happens, there is likely going to be a delay, before this is expressed in our results.
