We know the chain of custody for Dr. Ford's letter

The first report that a letter existed surfaced because staffers for Judiciary Committee Democrats complained to media that Senator Feinstein was hiding a letter relevant to the Kavanaugh confirmation.

A Senate Democrat even acknowledged on TV that the leak (of Dr. Ford's allegations and personal information, over her apparent wishes for privacy) likely came from Democrat “folks on committee staff.”

As the Washington Post reported, Republicans only ever received a redacted version of the letter.

So how did a Buzzfeed reporter know her name and address when the only people aware of Dr. Ford’s name were Senate Democrats?
How did the New Yorker get Dr. Ford's name anddetails of the allegations that ONLY the FBI and Democrats had?

Quotes throughout the story about the committee’s deliberations and internal discussions could only have come from Democrat offices.

Democrats chose to weaponize the allegations and evade the process that would have respected Dr. Ford’s wishes.

Republicans have done everything possible to accommodate and provide a safe comfortable environment to tell her story under oath.

Senate Democrats have sent a letter complaining that they were "not consulted" about a hearing that not only had the ranking member agreed to.. but they had specifically agreed to "not to object to the timing of hearings scheduled."

I'm a sociologist who studies adolescent sexual violence. On this thread, I will be live tweeting the #Kavanaugh hearing, chiming in with sociological insights and research findings.
Full disclosure--I will probably step away for parts of it. While many conservatives have cast feminists as people who rejoice at allegations of sexual assault against powerful men, this is a painful process for us. We know survivors. We are survivors. And I will need breaks.
It does not bode well that the beginning of this hearing is starting with equating #Kavanaugh and #Ford's experiences with harassment following Dr. Ford's allegations. They are absolutely not the same.

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa today made a formal request for a copy of the letter Ranking Member Feinstein received in July alleging misconduct by Judge Brett Kavanaugh as a teenager.
While Feinstein eventually referred the letter to the FBI last week, which was then redacted and added to Judge Kavanaugh’s background file, Committee Republicans have not yet been able to access an unredacted version of the letter.
