Okay, I have to stick up for prep school kids a little bit.

I didn't really enjoy high school. I don't have a close network of lifelong friends from my high school; I haven't spoken to anyone except the best friend I came into high school with in about 10 years.
Looking back, prep school was incredibly insular and is a great way to give your children some very funny notions about money and class. If I had kids I wouldn't send them there.
But some of the commentary I'm seeing is coming perilously close to implying that prep school boys just spend four years training as junior rapists before being unleashed on colleges. Which is just nonsense.
After 35 years of singledom in a variety of environments, from construction sites to the Ivy League, I can't say I've noticed any particular correlation between abusiveness and class.

What I've noticed is that in every group of people, some people are horrible.
There are certain kinds of acquired horribleness that are special to prep school, but that's true of any environment. And those acquired forms of horribleness don't make you a gang rapist.
Which is not to say that Kavanaugh didn't do everything he's accused of. But for heaven's sake, stop trying to blame it on Georgetown Prep instead of, you know, the individuals who chose to do awful things.
It's deeply silly, the sort of blunt stereotyping that we're supposed to refuse to do in an enlightened society.
