Totally unsurprising. The whole point of the human rights industry (and yes, it's an industry) is to depoliticize the abstract concept of "human rights" (labor rights aren't guaranteed, yet alone justice) in a pro-capitalist, pro-imperialist framework
HRW began as Helsinki Watch, which was created during the Cold War as an anti-communist weapon targeting the USSR and socialist bloc.

The industry defines "human rights" in direct opposition to communism (not to fascism). That was the point from day one.

The HR industry is set up to make revolutionary politics impermissible.

So oppressed nations & classes engaging in armed struggle for liberation are "violating human rights."

Palestinians, Yemenis, Filipinos, Nepalis, etc. can't fight; they can only make empty appeals to the UN
To the HR industry, if a capitalist gov. refuses to provide food and healthcare, and poor people die en masse, it's not a violation of "human rights."

But if a leftist gov. cracks down on violent right-wing insurgents and restricts fascists from organizing, it's a "HR violator."
When Human Rights Watch is claiming blood-soaked neocon warmonger McCain had "a strong record of commitment to the bipartisan promotion and defense of human rights," it's not surprising to see Amnesty use video of Ukrainian Nazis tearing down Lenin statues
