More than 15000 devotees gathered to #SaveSabarimala and participated in a procession despite of heavy rai s at Pandalam which was organized by the Pandalam royals & devotees and inaugurated by our president @shilpamdas

A procession which started around 4 pm to #SAVESABARIMALA at Pandalam witnessed the participation of more than 1 lakh devotees by the time it reached its end. We will be uploading the videos of the procession soon.

1. The #PadmanabhaswamyTemple case was taken up by Justices U U Lalit and Indu Malhotra today for final hearing. The Bench has positively indicated that final arguments will commence today at the end of the board.
2. The Counsel for the State Government of Kerala and other Respondents wanted the issue of Kallara B (Vault B) of the Temple to be resolved before the commencement of final arguments.
3. Mr. Krishnan Venugopal, Counsel for Shri Marthanda Varma, drew attention to the order of July 4, 2017 wherein the Court had indicated that the issue of Vault B would be taken up after final arguments in the matter.

Counsel for the two female petitioners, Ms. Indira Jaising, seeks round the clock police protection for them. Counsel for the State Govt of Kerala, Mr. Vijay Hansaria, submits that they are already providing round the clock protection to the Petitioners.
The Hon'ble CJI directs that the Petitioners shall continue to get round the clock protection. The Hon'ble CJI rejects all other prayers made on behalf of the Petitioners and also rejected the prayer to tag the Petition with the pending review petitions.
The Hon'ble CJI also observed that there was no need for the Court to get into other issues raised by Ms. Jaising on behalf of the Petitioners. Petition disposed off.

Parachute payments are made to clubs relegated from the Premier League in order to soften the blow of the significant reduction in revenue in the Championship, especially as many players’ wages remain at a high level. The following thread looks at how these payments work.
It is evident that parachutes have a major impact on the competitive balance in the Championship, as the 6 clubs with the highest revenue in 2016/17 all benefited from these payments, most notably the 3 relegated the previous season: #NUFC £86m, #NCFC £75m & #AVFC £74m.
Eight Championship clubs received Premier League parachute payments in 2016/17 with #NUFC, #AVFC and #NCFC getting £41m (up from £26m in 2015/16 thanks to the new TV deal), followed by #QPR £31m, then #CardiffCity, #FFC, #Royals & #WAFC, all £16m.
