Counsel for the two female petitioners, Ms. Indira Jaising, seeks round the clock police protection for them. Counsel for the State Govt of Kerala, Mr. Vijay Hansaria, submits that they are already providing round the clock protection to the Petitioners.
The Hon'ble CJI directs that the Petitioners shall continue to get round the clock protection. The Hon'ble CJI rejects all other prayers made on behalf of the Petitioners and also rejected the prayer to tag the Petition with the pending review petitions.
The Hon'ble CJI also observed that there was no need for the Court to get into other issues raised by Ms. Jaising on behalf of the Petitioners. Petition disposed off.
Counsel for State Government attempted to submit that 51 women devotees had already entered the Temple. This submission was strongly objected to by counsels for the Tantri, @People4Dharma and other parties who have filed review petitions.
The Honorable CJI too submitted that the number of women who may or may not have entered the Temple is irrelevant to the Petition at hand and that there is no need to tag the Petition along with the Review Petitions.
