The BEAR-BABY was conceived inside mothers’ womb in early January 2018 (remember the phrase “MELT UP” being shouted on every TV channel back then)

The delivery happened in exactly 9 months – October 2018 !!

Why will the new born baby bear not grow in size?!?!

@1shankarsharma you sow the seeds of next bull phase at the peak of pessimism when the last bull who vowed he'd never throw in the towel starts to panic. We may be few months away from that phase, but by 2019 Diwali we'd hopefully be more cheerful

The degree of competition in any sector is largely determined by “Threat-of-Entry”

Greater the threat, the worst it is for incumbents in that sector!!

An attractive space for Investors (and Management) is one where new competition is forced to overcome Durable Barricades!!
There are few clear-cut pointers to figure out such hurdles 👇

- Scale & Experience ?

- Regulatory / Legislative barriers ?

- Exclusive access to a resource or distribution channel ?

- Nature or extent of EXPECTED retaliation from incumbents ?

- Brand / Patented Technology ?
Incumbents may have access to some proprietary technology that gives them a clear cost or quality advantage not available to new entrants (or where new entrants would have to 💰💰💰in R&D)

1/ Although I think it's flawed I recognise Nick & Oliver put it forward in a genuine spirit of compromise and not to obfuscate the referendum

(It's depressing how other MPs less committed to Referendum are happy to trash this soft Brexit plan because they want to stop Brexit)
2/ In #January 2017, when I was first appointed at @OpenEurope, I was fan of leaving via Norway/EEA

I recall discussing it with @CER_Grant but also with many key Leavers

It would have been a sensible staging post & provided a better transition to work out our long term position

The annual Star Citizen whale milking convention is upon us!

The pre-show starts in +15 mins.

It was off to a good start when they removed some sessions from the schedule.

At the last minute.
The pre-show starts at 1PM, but "fans" were showing up +3 hrs ahead and lining up outside waiting to get in.

Now they let them in, and they're still in line waiting for the doors to open.

But this is normal though, because Star Citizen fans are used to waiting for things - consistently.

We know that in order for Ss to learn, they must feel safe & included. Neuroscience helps us to understand that when ANY one feels unsafe, theyre not able to learn, engage in complex thinking. Solid #assessment is important & necessary, but without feeling safe, its not effective

Thread on what it’s like to be a freelance foreign correspondent in 2018. I recently pitched a story to a prominent magazine about refugee returns to Syria. The editor I was speaking with said they were very interested but needed more pre-reporting before they could commit.
For some background, UNHCR is running out of money to aid refugees & has been cutting services for them. The EU, Canada and of course the U.S. are taking in hardly any. This has led to a push by overwhelmed countries neighboring Syria to send them back to the war zone they fled.
Around 800 refugees were recently returned to Syria from Arsal, a town in Lebanon near the Syrian border currently hosting over 50,000 refugees. These are photos I took when the refugees gathered for the journey to be returned.

Meanwhile, at 2 pm he posts a pic on his sc story of a menu at Olive Garden and you see freshly done acrylic nails across the table from him. Your nails are chipped and snaggly.
You text him “didn’t know your dad wore acrylics” he replies later that night at 3am “what?”
You text back immediately “that picture on your ig story... who was that girl across from you” you scurry back to the app to screenshot the pic and it’s gone.
