Here begins a thread on this smear of Chuck Grassley.

It is not an anti-Semitic SMEAR to say that George Soros has funded the organization responsible for these protests of Brett Kavanaugh's nomination.

Here's my initial response: conservativereview.com/news/trump-was…

As I lay out in the article above, The @nytimes wrote an article initially saying that Trump tweeted a similar charge "without evidence" but then a funny thing happened. There is evidence that Soros is behind those running this anti-Kavanaugh campaign 2/
In fact, the woman whom they quote as saying she didn't get paid for protesting earned, according to her organization's form 990 over $150,000 in 2016 from the Center for Popular Democracy 3/
The Center for Popular Democracy received over $2.7 M in 2016 and 2017 alone from George Soros' Open Society Foundation

You've all seen the KavaNope signs that have been all over DC right? They are paid for by some organization called Unite For Justice. Here's that organization's list of "partners"

I decided to cross-reference that list with the Soros Funded Open Society Foundation's grant database for 2016-2017. 13 of those organizations received over $13M from Soros' foundation.

Note that was a cursory glance at the database from Open Secrets. I did not dig further to see if other organizations funded by Soros also fund -- for example -- "Lady Parts Justice" (yes that's a thing)

Of course the @nytimes would counter with something like this:
7/
Get that according to the @nytimes factually showing, like this tread is doing is a "common trope among those on the far right."

No it isn't it is factual. George Soros isn't some sort of made up boogey man by fringe right wingers. He has transferred $18B to his foundation
8/
This is exactly how the media lies to you. Through biased interpretation of the news. The @nytimes argument is that George Soros didn't fund this action personally. He didn't specify that this is what should be done with the money.

9/
But what @georgesoros does is fund these left-wing organizations that have as a primary reason for being this sort of "direct action." He is funding exactly this sort of action and he knows it, and the @nytimes knows it.

But that doesn't fit their narrative. so they'll deny it
