1) So, let me tell you a fun little story of what happens when NPCs in specific industries encounter those that won't bow down to their ideology.
2) First, let me introduce you to @DiversityAndCmx, aka Ya Boi Zach, aka Richard Meyer, who started a youtube channel to provide honest reviews of comics that were on the whole declining in quality and popularity. youtube.com/channel/UCrlzS…
3) I say honest reviews because, similar to one of the core issues of #GAMERGATE, comic book pros and 'mainstream' comic book journalists were in a rather incestuous relationship of providing exclusive material, interviews, etc in exchange for favorable reviews.
4) So, someone who wasn't being provided incentives and reviewed comics bought with his own money presented something of a threat. He wasn't the ONLY one doing this, of course. But he did manage to garner more viewership than other independent reviewers.
5) The threat became existential once a core issue was discovered in Marvel's company structure. The Milkshake Girls incident, a group photo of a bunch of Marvel editors who were all women and all went out to get milkshakes together one day.
6) No, the issue was NOT that they were all women.

The issue was twofold; they were all editors and upon further research it became apparent that none of them had a history in the comic industry or any experience with editing work in general, some without any literary background
7) TYPICALLY, editors are industry veterans and more experienced writers who follow up behind the actual writers and artists to make sure the comics being written are high quality, flow well, are entertaining, effectively that they're something people will actually BUY.
8) Marvel itself has had rules in place that state that people could not write comics AND be an editor. This rule was counterproductive, as it was a disincentive for experienced writers who had already made a name for themselves to become editors.
9) Note that often, many of the biggest names in comic book writing are signed to exclusive contracts that would keep them from publishing their own books independently of Marvel; thus once they became an editor, they couldn't write comics PERIOD.
10) So, you have the slow attrition of experienced editors who retire or get promoted up, leaving a hole that experienced writers don't want to fill. That plus a drive to lower costs meant that a whole bunch of young liberal arts grads were brought in to fill the gap.
11) Thus what WAS a position that required experience and industry knowledge became an entry level position for people with NO experience, causing a swift decline in quality.

So, when all of these editors were in a group photo and people realized this?

SEXISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12) It was like an immune response. The minute that people like @DiversityAndCmx realized that the comic industry was suffering from a bunch of millennials who had been brought in as low-wage replacements, the SJW/NPC mentality that had been trojan horsed into Marvel flared up.
13) "You hate women! You hate minorities! You hate non-cis non-straight people!"

No... we hate shit comics.
14) "But you're just complaining, you aren't spending money!"

Yes we are. In fact, @DiversityAndCmx launched #movetheneedle where people would buy quality comics and post their purchases on social media to prove that they were comic customers.
15) "#movetheneedle is a bigoted hashtag! We're going to make writers and artists disavow it or else we'll force them out of the industry! Oh, and YOU aren't even in the industry, so what right do you have to critique us?!"

Well, Ya Boi Zack WASN'T in the comics industry, true.
16) So he made his own comic on indiegogo, and raised $400k. indiegogo.com/projects/jawbr…
17) And then he released a second one for over $100k. indiegogo.com/projects/iron-…
18) Those were both this year alone btw.

Oh, and then he took the extra copies of Iron Sights, and raised $15k for charity, specifically The Trevor Project, a suicide hotline for gay and trans teenagers. indiegogo.com/projects/iron-…
19) He was so successful, he even had worked out a publishing deal. Only for the comic industry pros, who were shocked by his and other independent writers and artists success, to actively interfere. @NickRekieta gives a much better explanation than I can
20) So now, @DiversityAndCmx is suing the comic book pros who first dismissed him, then attacked him, and then tried to destroy him. And so far, things are looking good.
21) Just bringing this story up to say not everything is shit, no matter how much Fake News you get hammered with. Not every far left sociotard gets away with making an ass of himself. Things are starting to turn around, and sane people are pushing back and winning.
