How did this collection of boilerplate gun control talking points take months to put together? It's all just stuff you'd see from Everytown or Brady on any given day.
It also features lots of misleading statements-like the idea that the NRA used to be some sort of gun control proponent-and just flat out falsehoods-like the idea that silencers are "largely banned."
It's sad how lazy the opinion section at the New York Times is when it comes to guns. They just collect the most common gun control talking points, publish them, clap their hands and yell "voila!" How did this piece take months? I'm honestly shocked.
It's not surprising or even all that concerning to me that the New York Times opinion section wants more gun control or dislikes the NRA but they should at least put some effort into this stuff. How many times have they published dishonest and inaccurate screeds like this?
