You have been led like a lamb to slaughter. Because this is the sad reality about "technology".
Mouse - invented in 1962
Pad gestures - GRAIL system invented 1968
Tablet tech - Sketchpad invented in 1962
Virtual reality? The "helmet" invented in 1968
The only purpose of tech these days is to dumb down the interface and make you more addicted.

These technologies pioneered in the 1960s had much more functionality than what you get today.
Next time you take out credit to get a new gadget, realize you're paying for your own enslavement.

You know what happens when you buy in to the "it's a privilege to work here" mentality? You get screwed. I bought in to that lie once, sold by a con artist and thief, and I think it's time I tell that story as much as I can. Buckle up, this one's a ride.
This story begins back in late 2001. I was a naive kid with aspirations to be a professional illustrator. I did a lot of canvassing for jobs in the games industry to little results, until I caught the attention of a startup Malaysian game company working on a "next gen" MMO.
They brought me on as a concept artist working under some phenomenal creatives. I worked remotely (yes, in 2001) with an international team from across the world. We didn't start the project in earnest until early 2002.

Observations about securing our election technology:

- It's a critically important problem.
- Current systems are frightfully vulnerable.
- The best solutions are really boring and don't involve cutting edge technology
- The cutting edge solutions make things worse.
Basically, we need (all these are currently feasible/available):

- precinct-counted optical scan paper ballots
- risk limiting audits
- Pay a LOT of attention to securing county backend systems; more funding required.
All that said, there's been considerable movement and consensus over the last few years that these things are needed; there seems to actually be bipartisan agreement on what to do. Cautiously optimistic about the direction voting tech is going, for the first time in 15 years.

Did you think Julian Assange was playing around with the world, that he's just another hacker that wanted to play war games, like Matthew Broderick? Someone who just wanted to mess with the security of Nations and the lives of people?
Do you think he's treasonous, seeking to harm Nations with his organization, WikiLeaks?
Why would some one do what he has done, take a Nations secrets and lay it all out bare naked for the whole world to see?

I’m fairly maximalist in my Christian theology.

I find the broad consensus developed by the church over the past two millennia more robust than the narrower version of Christianity sometimes popular in America.

So why do I think a “Minimum Viable Theology” is so important?
In technology, a Minimum Viable Product isn’t about stopping as soon as you find something that works.

It’s about finding a solid foundation on which to build.

The same is true with #MinimumViableTheology.
All theology has a foundation. Good theology should have a foundation that is meaningful, coherent, and plausible.

The foundation of a lot of popular theology is anything but.

Dear recruiter, I'm neither a Senior iOS developer nor an iOS magician/ninja/rock star.... I've been writing enterprise iOS apps for 2.5 years and I consider myself a mediocre iOS developer I don't like working after hours.
Startup mentality and flexible working sound to me like "lots of after hours". I often feel ashamed of code, I wrote in the past. I think that's a good sign: I got better since then. I don't like "cutting edge-technology". In my experience, the cutting edge moves quite quickly.

I accept: America is dead. We can't build or accomplish great things, we don't lead world in anything but defense $ and per capita ppl in prison.
