Here is my analysis of the election...

Senate: the country by often terrifyingly slim margins saw the democrats behavior in the Senate as untenable and voted to end it, ending Senate gridlock/obstruction. This was undoubtedly due to democrat behavior with Kavenaugh.
The House going democrat as far as I’m concerned was decided when Trump was elected. Whether you like Trump or not, he’s divisive within his own party. When he goes after rabid democrats, we cheer, & when he goes after the freedom caucus we fidget nervously while some cheer.
Part of Ted Cruz’s horrifyingly close margin was the damage he sustained in the GOP primary and the Trump voters who continued to hate him long past what most people would determine to be the primary grudge expiration date. Trump isn’t afraid to go hard after anyone. ANYONE.
Senate determines Judicial appointments so I’m thrilled the GOP gained seats there. RBG better take her vitamins. Even without a SCOTUS appointment, Trump is still going to shape the next generation of the judiciary by appointing constitutional orignalists to lower courts. 😍
House going democrat means buckle up, chaos is coming. The vagina/handmaid costumed protesters are now inside the House. Be ready for 2 years of trying to find any plausible reason the country might accept to impeach Trump. To me... well, don’t freak out but. I think that’s good.
NOT BECAUSE I WANT TRUMP IMPEACHED.
Trump put together a unique and wobbly coalition. Attacks from the left on Trump resiliency that coalition defensively, because the democrats are dumb enough to not simply suggest that Trump is racist, but they always go to the “ALL HIS VOTERS ARE RACIST!” Oh REALLY.
Call me crazy, but when a party falsely accuses you of being racist, it tends to make you feel pretty negatively about that party. So dems are going to spend two full years insulting/attacking the entire Trump coalition. They’re going to try and hurt those voters legislatively.
They’re going to try & do everything they can to disenfranchise all Trump voters. Meanwhile, a new generation is coming of age in that environment, as democrats scream and wail and gnash their teeth, declaring the end is nigh and the end it will be painfully clear is not nigh.
I’m biased. I like divided government. I’m sad to see Scott Walker go, I’m glad Gillum and Abrams lost. I think the states were a far worse bag for republicans than the federal seats were. We’ll see where this goes. But all in all, after last night, I feel... fine. Just fine.
