Guys, c'mon. You can't possibly be dumb enough to fall for this. He's been on the warpath about social media companies "censoring conservatives" (without actual evidence) for months

So that's why Trump is trying to get new legislation passed. The First Amendment SHOULD protect websites' exercise of editorial discretion, but there's a lot the President could do to circumvent its protections and harass websites—if given enough power by Congress

So ignore his crocodile tears about protecting free speech. He's just using talk of "fairness" and "bias" to attack companies he thinks are too close to the Dems (and because he needs new enemies to rant against)

So what did private platforms actually do to prompt Trump's attacks?

Exercise their 1st Amendment right to moderate content. And yeah, because they've moderated the various forms of disinformation spread by a cottage industry of political B.S. that's infected the Right

But taking down inauthentic content, outright lies, incitement to violence, etc isn't political "bias," even if it happens to hurt media that favors one party more than the other

"Bias" is when journalism of equal quality and seriousness on both sides is treated differently
