Counties have to certify election results by Monday, according to Georgia code. Monday is a federal holiday and Abrams campaign says counties are unclear if the deadline holds. Secretary of state hasn’t given guidance.
“There are no surprises here, folks. This was rated the most competitive gubernatorial election... We were prepared for this.”
Abrams campaign says returns are still trickling in. “As every hour goes by, the margin narrows in small amounts.”
Campaign says there are potentially uncounted absentee ballots piled up in certain locations. As they explore legal options, they’ll share more, they say.
