...they race to close it down before we can actually demonstrate with evidence? The money was *already* allocated for the pilot. It wasn't going to cost you anything extra to see it thru. Now with the legal battles and lawsuits as a result of this it might end up costing even...
more -- and we won't have the evidence. Lose/Lose all around

If they think they are right, Why not prove it? It was already happening. All they had to do was sit back and wait for the proof. One way or the other one of us was going to be right. They don't want that to happen.

Eliminating poverty should be one of our primary goals as a society. The solution is to lift everyone out of poverty with #BasicIncome as an unconditonal right to resources needed to exist. If you believe only the employed deserve to live free of poverty, your vision is lacking.
Ending poverty REQUIRES unconditional basic income. There's no ending poverty through a conditional approach. The right to live free of poverty should be seen as a right of citizenship, not something someone only deserves for doing activities deemed worthy by those dominating us.
Do you believe that unpaid workers deserve to live in poverty or that providing them with conditional welfare benefits prevent their poverty? Do you think providing paid workers with cash while providing unpaid workers with benefits-in-kind, or even nothing, is fair & dignifying?

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Basic Income since 2013. Here's a list of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments, unconditional cash transfer studies, and cash dividend research.

Although there was a slight decrease in hours worked per year when primary earners were provided a basic income guarantee in the 1970s, that emerged as a result of spending more time between jobs, reasonably looking for a *good* job instead of *any* job.

"It is not the employer who pays the wages. Employers only handle the money. It is the customer who pays the wages."

Money is meant to circulate through economies. Customers buy stuff. That money becomes wages. Those wages buy stuff, etc.

Here's a diagram of how this works.
As factors of production become machines, factor incomes are reduced, which in turn reduces personal consumption, which in turn further reduces factor incomes.

Automation breaks this system without the provision of income external to the loop, aka unconditional basic income.
If you love the idea of decentralized market economies and hate the idea of unconditional basic income, you've got a real problem on your hands because the former requires the latter. Markets require customers who require money. As money goes to fewer hands, markets break down.

A lack of the ability to meet ones basic needs creates a "scarcity mentality". Everyone experiences it at some point, from not enough money, food, or time. This mentality can best explain why poor people make poor decisions. #basicincome #ubi
When someone lacks the resources to cover their basic needs, they become extrinsically motivated to seek work. This often creates a different work attitude than those who are intrinsically motivated to work, because they're working to fulfill different needs. #basicincome #ubi

If we put jobs underneath a microscope, we see they're comprised to varying degrees of income, work, purpose, and security.

Once we realize this, it's that much easier to understand that what we need isn't jobs themselves, but what they're supposed to provide us.

An unconditional basic income not only provides the income component of jobs directly, but it also better enables the earning of additional income, especially compared to welfare programs that punish the earning of additional income through withdrawal of conditional benefits.
Unconditional basic income better enables all forms of work by recognizing and making possible unpaid work as an option currently reserved only for those who can afford the option. UBI creates more work choices, and allows people to choose the work that's the best fit for them.
