2) Had we not fought and won the Cold War, the Soviet Union would still be on the march, with its gulags and totalitarianism. To all my Vietnam Veteran friends, I say the worst thing we did in that long, terrible war, was lose. Yet, even in that defeat...
3) ... the world knew that we showed up, fought, and refused to allow Communism its cancerous reach to the rest of the world.

4) ... and realized that the freedoms we created, and fought and bled for, were absolutely correct. Long before we ourselves did, they saw that the self-evident truth of the phrase 'All Men Are Created Equal,' meant exactly what it said.
5) Had we not fought and won our Revolutionary War, that's virtually certain NOT to have occurred. A philosophy gave birth to a nation, and that nation fought and won a war so that it could exist.
6) This changed all of history forward and is the basis of the freedom that heals the world wherever it takes root.

7) Without them, our lesser natures as humans dictates that the strongest tough guy on the global block runs the show, for his own and his cronies' benefit.
8) Finis - On this Veteran's Day, I pledge my undying gratitude to all warriors who give me the freedom I enjoy, who make my family and my country safe, and who stand between me, mine and my country's fall under tyranny and destruction.
