Have you ever animated in group of things, each one with an increasing animation beginTime offset?
Consider adding acceleration to your delays so that they get increasingly shorter! If you have a list of 20 things all fading and moving in with 0.05s delays that's still means last item won't start animating-in for a full second! That's heavy.
Consider a basic decay! A simple root function will do wonders here. Now the delays will start off feeling similar to the linear function but then will bunch up nicely instead of growing wildly. Imagine an anchor pulling chains off the deck of a boat w/ increasing speed! ⚓
Something like this… (You may actually want to slightly increase your coefficient since the delays will be much tighter now)
Now the delay for the 20th element will only be 0.22s as opposed to 1.0s!! Many eyeballs will thank you for making the entire transition happen in roughly <300ms 👏
