Update: Avenatti's estranged wife says, through attorney, that she wasn't at his apartment last night. Attorney says if he beat someone up, it wasn't her.
TMZ has updated their story too. Where it previously said the complainant was Avenatti's wife, now she's "a woman."
Aaaand now LAPD is confirming that Avenatti was arrested for domestic violence.
(A bunch of people in my mentions urging me to hold off on tweeting about this who weren't in my mentions any of the dozens of other times I tweeted about perpetrators of domestic violence or sexual assault, BTW.)

Since people are still pestering: Michael Avenatti being arrested for DV is news. Period. Not tweeting about it doesn't make it not-news. It's a major story that won't be wished away by an attempt to construct a cone of silence.
We'll find out soon enough what the specifics of the charges and their basis are, and when we do we'll all draw our own conclusions then.
Tweeting "this happened" when something happens doesn't preclude further discussion and review of the context of that thing later. And THIS this—Avenatti's arrest—did actually happen.
