Once upon a time, when @Susan_Hennessey was still working for @NSAGov, she bought me a present: An NSA hoodie.

A week ago, I wore it to my gym, and a friend with whom I work out got a little agency competive, suggesting that I should sport other IC swag too.
Today he brought me this, an FBI patch:

This is actually in keeping with a long tradition of our intel community swag coming from countries in which and against which our agencies have to operate:

This piece by @woodruffbets spins out what the White House lawyers and their allies imagine to be the mechanism by which they will stifle the Mueller findings, assuming they take the form of some kind of report that contains material plausibly covered by executive privilege.
Here is the simple reason why it won't work:
Even assuming that the executive privilege claims are valid and will be upheld and are sustainable in the face of the political pressure the administration will receive on the subject, and that is a heck of an assumption, executive privilege does not cover conclusions.

My question, @brithume, is what turns on this distinction you're drawing? The president has repeatedly said he had nothing to do with Russia--at a time he was endeavoring to build a large building there and Russian intelligence was hacking his political opponents.
At the very time he was calling on them to do so and praising Putin. At the very time his campaign staff and advisers were having meetings with Russian cutouts. Are you really contending that this is the sort of candor we should expect from our leaders?
Are you really contending that any of this is okay?

I've been reading about the Whiskey Ring scandal as part of @Susan_Hennessey and my book research, and wow, Grant's reaction to the prosecutions is really Trumpy. Consider:
(1) He fired a special prosecutor for questioning his authority to interfere with the activities of the secretary of the treasury.
(2) He drew a red line around his sons and demanded that reports that they were investigative subjects be rebutted.

Once upon a time, I was a worship leader at a local church, after having been in music ministry since I was 15. I had helped transform their music ministry with my gifts and time

Then they kicked me out. And that was how I became #Exvangelical. It wasn't originally voluntary.
We had been at this church for 3 years after moving here. We were active, part of a small group we "did life with". 3 kids in the children's ministry. I was the pianist and a vocalist, alternated leading worship with the other leader, a man. We were happy, they were our family.
During a study I was leading in my home, I mentioned that I wasn't complementarian but believed in equality between husband and wife. Our marriage was egalitarian, I gave Bible verses that supported my position. 1 friend apparently felt threatened by this new info.

A full page ad in the Metro costs over five figures. Someone's funding this. Who? And why are there no journalists looking into this crucial question?
This is not an insignificant bit of pocket change. This is an almost impossibly expensive ad spend. There are two possibilities of what's going on:
1. There's a big funder
2. Someone at Metro ad sales gave them a massive discount or freebie.

Either way, who?
£45,000 for that full-colour ad. Someone funded it, or someone gave them an enormous discount.

Once upon a time, long before the British, we had our own Vedic system of time keeping. We had 30 muhurtas in a day. Life was quicker paced, organized and more efficient. Each muhurta had a name too. #missingVedicTimes
How did the Vedic people measure the muhurta? How was it standardized across the Vedic civilization to prevent regional asynchrony?
By the use of Clepsydras(water clocks) until Vedic mathematics and astronomy was rigorous enough to arrive at horological constants independently.
The oldest explicit instruction for measuring the muhurta is found in the 𝘝𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘑𝘺𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘢 of Lagadha, the 1st treatise of astronomy. It is datable quite dependably to~1400BCE by references in verses 6 &7 (1340-1370 BCE using various siddhantas for back calculation)
