Owen Jones was a Victorian architect & designer who in 1856 published "Grammar of Ornament", a cross-cultural design masterpiece. The lavish folio depicts stunning patterns, motifs & ornaments in 112 illustrated color plates. [1]

Egyptian Capitals showing varied designs of lotus & papyrus motifs. The center capital #1 is from a large column in the Temple of Luxor, Thebes. It represents a full-blown papyrus decorated around it w/ papyri & lotus buds alternating.
