If you’ll bear with me for a second, I have a sad and tragic story that happened to me this weekend that I’d like to tell.

I hadn’t ridden my horse in a couple weeks, so I took her out to stretch her legs. /1
I rode down a dirt road right behind us and cut through a guys field onto another dirt road.

I had ridden a couple hours until I was in unfamiliar territory.

Over in another field I see a fella wrestling with his horse and he began yelling for assistance. /2
I had no idea who this person was but decided to help him out.

As I rode closer I could see he was holding up her back leg and I couldn’t tell if it was hurt or threw a shoe.

I jumped down and walked my horse closer. /3
The minute I get to this guy, he drops her hoof to introduce himself.

That very second his Horse rares up and kicks the poor guy and runs off.

I immediately run to the guy to help him but his eyes are open and his mouth agape. I check his pulse and nothing. /4
I’m in panic mode because I have no way to contact anyone and there isn’t a house for miles in this back country.

I didn’t want to move the guy so I started riding in search of a house. I ride for a while and get completely turned around. /6
It was getting cold and the sun was setting so I jumped down to build a small fire. Just then I looked up at a little hill beside me and there’s a guy sitting on his horse at the top. I ride up to talk to him and he was gone. /7
For a split second I thought it was the ghost of the guy that was just killed by his horse.

I sat on my horse in silence..../8
Anyway, I digress. I get bored and ride back down to the dead fellow and looted him and robbed a bank on my way back to the gang at Horseshoe lookout.

Red Dead Redemption is pretty great.
