Boca supporters are assembling outside the team hotel in Puerto Madero before the squad make the 10km or so journey to the Monumental in some hours

@TNTSportsLA Boca Juniors are also leaving from Puerto Madero & it is absolute chaos [via @GoalArgentina]
Television reporting that Boca's team bus has had some of the windows broken as it arrived at the Monumental - it's only just beginning
One of the quickest entrances by a team bus into a stadium - Boca trying to get in unscathed

Reports the Boca bus got hit by pepper-spray - a revenge attack for what happened at La Bombonera in 2015 perhaps
Although sounds as though the gas was actually used by police to disperse the River supporters outside the bus after the windows had been shattered. Either way the Superclásico is all go
Carlos Tevez showing the effects of the pepper spray after getting off the bus, Nahitan Nández furious as the Boca players cover their faces
Television reports that Boca players are vomiting in the changing room following their arrival - Tevez the worst affected.
Still 90 minutes until kick off - Boca's XI being reported as:

Andrada; Buffarini, Izquierdoz, Magallán, Olaza; Nández, Pérez, Barrios, Almendra, Villa; Ábila
Can't get flares into the stadium? No worries, River Plate supporters have a solution - just strap them to your child & no one will know

Boca have requested that the CONMEBOL medics check the players to ensure that they are ok to play - you didn't think this Superclásico would go smoothly did you?
Increasing reports of the Boca players being in no position to play - talks of possibly putting kick off back an hour or suspending the game
River president Rodolfo D'Onofrio, Boca counterpart Daniel Angelici and CONMEBOL officials are discussing this
It all stems from this as Boca's bus got pelted arriving at the stadium and the windows were smashed [Via @TNTSportsLA]

Wanchope Ábila, Cardona, Tevez & Almendra reportedly sick while Jara & Pablo Pérez were cut - Boca arguing that they are not in condition to play. Not quite sure how this is going to play out
Worth mentioning that this is without away fans, remember when President Macri said this was a good time to allow visiting fans.
Already floating the idea that they could play in midweek and behind closed doors - Would be an absolute tragedy if the behaviour of some utter morons leads to that
Television still optimistically showing a countdown to kick off - teams not out to warm up so whatever happens the Superclásico isn't starting in 40 minutes
Boca midfielder Pablo Pérez reportedly with glass in his eye & talk of players needing to leave to go hospital - there is surely no way this is going ahead
Three Boca players need to go to hospital according to reports now
Video from inside Boca's bus - nearly all the windows appear to have smashed

Not yet official but the match looks set to be suspended - we won't be getting a Superclásico Libertadores final today
Images from Boca's changing room where the players look in a very bad way - Pablo Pérez with a cut arm is supposed to be one needing to go to hospital

Video from @Promiedos (terrific site for Argentine football info & stats incidentally) shows the Boca bus under police escort heading straight into the ambush

CONMEBOL meanwhile confirm only that kick off is put back until 6pm. Pablo Pérez has just left for hospital - can't see how they simply delay it by an hour

Stadium announcement tells supporters that kick off will be in an hour (6pm) - surely not. The fall out if River win it after this
FIFA president Gianni Infantino joins CONMEBOL president Alejandro Domínguez & the 2 club presidents in a meeting - suggestions that CONMEBOL want the game to go ahead due to the their television commitments 🤦‍♂️
Boca starting midfielder Pablo Pérez now ruled out after an eye injury caused by the shattered glass...and yet there is a debate as to whether they play this evening?
Batigol speaks the truth, it was another opportunity with the world watching. Shameful

Pablo Pérez is now returning to the stadium BUT has been ruled out from playing. We still wait further information on whether the match goes ahead.
Dear CONMEBOL,
You have already made a complete fucking mess of this year's Copa Libertadores so please do the right thing this evening and don't force this to be played.
Cheers.
CONMEBOL now delay until 19:15 local time. They are outdoing themselves this time

According to CONMEBOL doctor, the injuries are only superficial & there is no medical reason not to play. Uggh

CONMEBOL's computer system fails to tell clubs of suspended players leading to ineligible team selections, walkover victories awarded & a few debatable VAR calls, many asked has this year's Copa Libertadores been ruined.

Could it get any worse?

We have our answer.
Argentine football is never short of a Simpsons GIF but @DanEdwardsGoal is one of the masters

Video from on board the Boca bus - the players still singing originally until the mood seems to turn [via @Fedito]

Boca supporters at the hospital where Pablo Pérez received treatment to show support as he heads back to the Monumental - midfielder is now ruled out [via @TyCSports]

Just a wee tip for @CONMEBOL but when River are in agreement with Boca that the game shouldn't be played it means you are probably in the wrong if you say it should
Carlos Tevez: "We are not in condition to play. They're forcing us to play the game."

Tevez also pissed off that no River player came to their changing room to check on the Boca squad but he and Gago paint a very sorry picture for CONMEBOL making it clear that it is the organisers that are pushing this ahead
The officials are out to warm up and coaching staff from both sides appear to preparing for the players to emerge. Oh god CONMEBOL, you are really doing this aren't you?
The decision process for FIFA & CONMEBOL when deciding if this game should go ahead
And just to make matters worse there are currently security issues outside with police battling with River supporters still trying to gain access to the stadium.
Scenes outside the Monumental now

Running battles in the streets outside and now being reported the game will be suspended - tomorrow at 5pm we get the Superclásico
So the Copa Libertadores final second leg between River Plate and Boca Juniors is finally OFF - they do it all over again tomorrow at 5pm. Now police just need to empty a packed Monumental without any further problems
A warning being given to River supporters leaving the stadium with tickets to be careful not to be robbed by those who don't have tickets waiting outside
We know when the game will now be played but curious to see what punishment is handed to River Plate for today - were it not the final would Boca have been awarded a win?
This is River president Rodolfo D'Onofrio having to do a runner midway through an interview due to problems inside the stadium [via @FOXSportsArg]

When you haven't quite caused enough shit...

Boca meanwhile still in their changing room at the Monumental - apparently they can't send a replacement bus until things outside are a bit calmer so looks like a sleepover for Boca
A further twist is that the Monumental has now been closed by the city government (just like La Bombonera has been after their open training session) so where does that leave tomorrow's rescheduled game?
Meanwhile Carlos Tevez is talking to the press again & not mincing his words. He said the game shouldn't go ahead tomorrow & suggested that CONMEBOL want to give the trophy to River
And what this all means is that the @argsaf clásico tomorrow between Huracán & San Lorenzo is postponed - a shame because all the other clubs already really like Boca & River

Hey CONMEBOL, I know of a great little stadium that's ideal for hosting clásicos behind closed doors
Prompting a million counter claims that River are buying the title

Boca meanwhile have just arrived back at the hotel in Puerto Madero - seems like a lifetime ago that I was tweeting videos of excited fans arriving early
Footage from what could be the least effective police escort in history [via @GerGarciaGrova]

Boca president Daniel Angelici reportedly talking with the club lawyers at the team hotel about the possibility of requesting a walkover victory

Same report from the hotel saying that while Angelici won't request the win, Boca's players will refuse to play tomorrow. Anyway, this is going to run on and on so I'll leave it there for this evening. Thanks for joining me & we will do it all again tomorrow!
