Node.js gets the blame because among the competing languages it has the best package management system, and thus such problems appear there first. It's up to you to prune dependencies.

Wrong. It doesn't matter that the bad guys can use SSL, except that Google Chrome falsely says "secure/not secure" for SSL support instead of saying "encrypted/unencrypted". It's not Letsencrypt's fault people think "SSL" means "trustworthy"
Absolutely agree. Good sysadmins are more important than good security professionals. Good sysadmins (and/or netadmins) are gold. Of course, there are still a lot of a bad sysadmins :-).
When programming, use an IDE with an integrated debugger. Visual Code is awesome.
