It's worth asking, for every asshole that has made a career defending the indefensible in these op-eds, what stake they have in doing the indefensible themselves.
And it's worth asking why the fucking op-ed writing community is consistently more willing to come to the defense of people with close ties to verifiable monsters like Epstein over stuff like being socially slighted by their summer home neighbors.
Like, maybe they didn't want him at their parties because they figured that no matter how pleasant the company of a Trump supporting rich asshole may be, it wasn't worth the risk of him raping their children.
