League Stats 📊

Kane (£12.3m) v Aubameyang (£10.9m)

Auba is leading the way in many #FPL departments this year.
The stand out statistic is the difference in ‘expected goals’ and ‘actual goals’ (3.4).
Although previous leading goal scorers outperform their stats over a season, it is clear he is over-performing (or clinical) 🤔

Kane on the other hand hasn’t been as clinical, playing over 200 more minutes.
Shots per 90 are clearly higher for Kane, and seems to be underperforming compared to his ‘expected goals’.
Minutes played highlight his importance and guaranteed position in the team.

Fixtures 🗓

Kane 👇🏻

Notable fixture is the must-win CL match against Barcelona between GW 16 & 17 - 3 days after Leicester.
With Kane definitely playing at the Nou Camp, there’s arguements he could have limited game time against Leicester/Burnley depending on game.

Aubameyang 👇🏻

Faces a tough GW15 (even with United form). No European football to worry about till after Xmas.
Carabao Cup match v Spurs after Saints Away will affect both Aub & Kane.

Both Strikers face equally poor defences in the coming months, both capable of scoring big points hauls.
The Cup match against both is hard to predict line ups, so not a factor when considering both.
Spurs’ home matches are especially good/frequent.

Our Pick

The decision should firstly be based on squad depth/situation. With a busy Christmas schedule, first priority is ensuring squad is strong and all playing. Therefore you shouldn’t bring in Kane, at the expense of owning a non-playing bench player.

If you have the funds for either, our pick would be Kane. He has great fixtures (especially home) and importantly isn’t a rotation risk - excluding the 1 CL match.
Aubameyang on the other hand has more competition for places, although currently is the main man.

We expect both to do well over Christmas, but the pedigree/rotation risk and fixtures sway to Kane.
Especially ahead of GW15, it’s hard to ignore Spurs home match against manager-less Saints compared to Arsenal’s United trip.
