Once the impropriety in the deal came to the light, UPA Govt immediately encashed the Bank Guarantees of ₹224 Crores & also initiated legal proceedings & ultimately Government of India recovered ₹1881 crores through the tedious litigation process in Italian Courts.

Moreover, UPA Govt had immediately impounded 3 Helicopters which were already delivered to us, Cost of Each Helicopter is around ₹300 Crores. 3 × 300 = ₹900Cr.
224+1881+900 = ₹2942Cr - ₹1586 Cr (which was initially paid) = ₹1356 Cr!
That's ₹2042 crore hard cash!
