1. @RoyCooperNC is facing a very important decision that will have a big impact on who becomes the next member of Congress for the 9th District.

But few people are paying attention.

That should change.

@RoyCooperNC 2. This week, the North Carolina GOP realized that there was just too much evidence of election fraud in the 9th and gave up their campaign to get Harris certified.

So they started supporting a new election.

But now they want a new primary and general.

3. The problem is that under current law, the Election Board can't order a new primary, which has already been certified.

So the GOP legislature got to work. Yesterday, it passed a bill changing the rules. It would require the board to order a new primary and general.

4. Keep in mind, there is only one purpose to this law. It's to get Harris off the ballot because the GOP now views him as damaged goods.

The North Carolina GOP was warned about the fraud in the primary by its sitting Congressman and ignored it.

5. So now it's up to @RoyCooperNC will he sign this law and allow the North Carolina Republicans to wipe the slate clean and pretend this never happened.

Or will the 2018 election be completed under a consistent set of rules.

6. Final point. North Carolina has runoffs. So if it orders a new primary. There could be a new primary, a runoff and then a general.

The 9th District wouldn't have representation for the better part of a year.
