On Jan. 1, more than 30 changes to the Rules of Golf will take effect. To get you ready, we're rolling out "The 12 Days of Rules Changes." Check this thread every day for a new rules change! #12days 🏌️‍♂️
1: If a player deems a ball unplayable in a bunker, they can take relief outside the sand on a line from the hole to where the ball came to rest in the bunker. It'll cost you 2 strokes but could help you out of a bunker blackhole --> golf.social/2SOyxBj #12days
2: The new rules also address the pace of play, recommending "a player should make a stroke in no more than 40 seconds." This rule also suggests that local committees adopt an official Pace of Play Policy --> golf.social/2SP0skC #12days
3: Caddies can mark a player’s ball, and do so without needing authorization. Caddies can even go so far as to replace the ball on the green IF they were the one who marked it.
