Prosecutors say that two weeks before Flynn's interview with the FBI, Flynn was making false statements about his comms with the Russian ambassador at the time to the press and multiple members of Trump's transition team, including Pence, Priebus, and Spicer
As for Flynn's lawyers noting he wasn't warned about not lying before his interview: "A sitting National Security Advisor, former head of an intelligence agency, retired Lieutenant General, and 33 year veteran of the armed forces knows he should not lie to federal agents."
The government's filing includes a 302 - a summary of an FBI interview, in this case, of Flynn's interview. In it, the author (named redacted) wrote that then-FBI director James Comey told then-acting AG Sally Yates right before about the interview, and "she was not happy"
Flynn was interviewed by Peter Strzok and another agent. Flynn first took them on a tour of the West Wing. They ran into Trump and some movers who were talking about where to place art. "...nobody paid attention to the agents. Flynn did not introduce them to anyone."
Here's the section that says McCabe "and others" decided the agents shouldn't warn Flynn it was a crime to lie to the FBI because they wanted him relaxed. Flynn was "unguarded" and surprisingly chatty, the agents noted
Flynn "did not give any indicators of deception," the agents noted. Strzok thought that Flynn was "bright, but not profoundly sophisticated"
After the Flynn interview, Strzok briefed Andrew McCabe and another perso (name redacted) about it, and McCabe briefed Comey. There was later a disagreement between people (names redacted) about the decision to interview Flynn. The rest of the doc is redacted
