You cancelled the Green Energy Act and contracts, throwing contract law & the jobs of the future to the wind, sending a message to investors that #Ontario is in fact not open for business.
You ended cap & trade, irresponsibility claiming that this decision resulted in lower gas prices & offering no plan for the greatest challenge facing this generation and the next.
You cut the Ministries of Francophone & Indigenous Affairs, wiped out the French Language Services Commissioner, the Child Advocate & the Environmental Commissioner, effectively eliminating anyone who could criticize you in any way & putting our most vulnerable kids at risk.
You reduced the size of Toronto Council without consultation in the middle of an election, creating a virtual gong show at Queen’s Park.
You scrapped important labour protections, wage increases & the basic income pilot that benefitted the most vulnerable people in this province and their children.
In the last 24 hours you’ve cut the Indigenous Culture Fund & retroactively cut the funding to the group of(largely) women who deliver, nurture and care for women and babies and provide positive outcomes for our public health care system.
You have done all this in the name of efficiency and making #ontario “Open for Business” and here’s what it got us: some cheap billboards, a buck off beer and a downgrade from Moody’s. theglobeandmail.com/business/artic…
Investors have no confidence because your decision-making is reckless, short-sighted and grounded in either what’s best for your friends or petty, political spite.
You’re gutting and cutting with nothing to show for it but a camper van and some jobs for your friends. Being Premier means leading for all the people, not just your friends.
