My misphrased ways and all your days ablaze like Pompeii's aftermath,
this draft a prolonged trompe l'oeil of phrase, praise raining down like ash,

to counter downcast shrugs without drugs like the hugs you want unasked,
it's backdraft brashly crafted tone the poem's gemstone enclasped in brass,
Enthusiastically condoning trespass through life's crass morass.

The resilience that you've shown like kintsugi on gold damask,
enthroned like zen stones in the endzone where our spellcraft roams -
Alas...
...like triskadekics risking treats, averse to tricks on thirteenth streets,

these verse, like psychedelic sweets, untwist to tryst, then crash
into fantastic color-dazzled frisk freed of inertial mass.

Call this my intro piece, like intraspecies greetings, come to ask
as sweet as evening, for your leave to make our meeting make you laugh,
our seedlings grown to flowers
our affection colorfast

the broken hourglass of passive disempowerment in halves

in tweet and verse, to fleetly disperse unnamed shame's grasping lambastes.

Be my accomplice, with my compliments, badass or bashful lass.
Come stash your hassles - cast a facile smile at this shapeshifting mash
of massé curveshot swerving craftsmanship, like telepathed podcast,

as friendship's purred word verving jazz riff gift uplifts clashing contrasts
and queues your playlists, from Bastille to Swift, like masquerade ball bash.

Avast! The serenaded ending nears, delight lashed to the mast
a classic déclassé upending splendid with fashioned panache
Soundproof aloofness turned allusive, our disorder's typecasts trashed
Confusion soothed, unbidden looseness lining truth's forbidden paths,

our self-improvement like the hidden proof of string math come to pass.

Tonguelashed harassment ever disaverred, your future's check uncashed,
Our church, surrational with cleverness, now seated from high mass.

Whimsical New Year's Eve postscript:

Certain the search by Dickens urchins if the merchants geocached
Would find our persons in recherché hats on gas-lit overpass
Artfully perched awaiting Pickwick's clique for picnics to gatecrash,
If we time-shifted into literature with fictives from the past...

Inside you house a tiger and a fey with wings of glass,
while I maladaptive daydream all the ways to rhyme en masse...
...and phone a donkeyherd in turkey, just so he can ask his ass
if he believes it! (I begin to) While the jackass nibbles grass,

dreaming of splashes of molasses mixed with tasty sassafrases,
I predict the gasping masses spilling tea at your newsflashes
for no spyglass can declassify the world beneath your chassis.

So a toast to being dashing while your inner wealth amasses,
Happy Noms and Happy New Year, with Syrah in fine wineglasses,
plastic NASA boarding passes to each other's looking glasses
in our pockets: may our lives both be as bright as lightning flashes!

melee - pell-mell disorganized close quarters fighting.

masse - a pool shot imparting enough spin to curve the ball around linear obstacles.
lambaste - to criticize someone or something harshly; as a noun, the criticism thereof.
déclassé - of fallen social status or rank, with the subtext flavor of breaking upper class social taboo.

panache - carefree spirited self-confidence in style or manner.
disaverred - denied or unaffirmed, in a imperative manner leaving no opportunity for refutation.
Pickwick - a main character of The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.

recherché - exotic or extravagantly refined; chosen with care. Another near rhyme flourish, though honestly our hats would be entirely marvelous. Mot juste.
chassis - the outer structural framework or scaffolding of a vehicle or device
anything else - lol, stay in school urchins
