I "re-certified" in 2013 for both cardiology and cardiac EP with @ABIMCert. At that time, I was told I needed 100 MOC points every 10 years to stay certified. Now I learn I have to acquire "100 MOC points every 5 years" or risk "change" to my cert status.
@ABIMcert I have been diligently working to find a way not to pay another dime to ABIM for MOC points but found I was going crazy trying to do so. Find myself cornered like a rat.
@ABIMcert Every MOC point earned must have lengthy "survey" completed of your perception of COIs, exam quality, references used, etc. (total waste of time when your needed 90 more points). Stress mounting...

@ABIMcert I have not been a member of @ACCinTouch for past two years because of their support of #MOC. They're offering an amnesty deal if I rejoin until 12/31/2018 - won't "charge me" for the 2017 years' dues if I rejoin. WTF?

@ABIMcert Sooo. Turned to @ACCInTouch (ironic name, by the way) to see where I could get 90 #MOC points before 12/31/2018. And only one option meets the bill: ACCSAP9 for $1600 / 158 MOC points ($10 per MOC point).
@ABIMcert After paying the $1600, could not open online app unless I agreed to not tell anyone anything about the content. Free speech is a great thing, however.
@ABIMcert Had to agree to all kinds of terms with @ACCInTouch but only learned of them AFTER I forked over the cash for MOC - app wouldn't open unless I clicked "I Agree" to terms and no cancellation button offered.
@ABIMcert I encourage everyone trying to meet @ABIMcert 's MOC extortion demands for MOC points before 12/31/2018 to check out who they're collaborating with at cmefinder.org @AccreditedCME locking up market with @ACCinTouch @ABIMCert and many others.
@ABIMcert Finally, if you're responding to @ABMSCert 's cortically blind "Vision Commission" open comment period (visioninitiative.org/vision-commiss… ) think about who they are colluding with for MOC and their COIs. Probably wouldn't waste your time.
@ABIMcert To think that THREE of those precious 97 questions I paid for from the @ACCinTouch CATHSAP9 arrhythmia section dealt with the same thing (interaction between dofetilide and HCTZ) really pissed me off. Really? Really? I'm being tested on that not only once, but THREE TIMES? #MOC
