Watching Die Hard for the first time. It is so obviously a Christmas movie I don’t understand why it’s even up for debate.
My mother in law was outraged that the police didn’t listen to McClane on the radio and also said that if this movie gets any more exciting we’ll need to break into the Christmas pudding.
Honestly the biggest victim so far is John McClane’s shirt. Why is he even wearing it still? What purpose is it serving?

Alright, I've got some thoughts on this, after a lot of contemplation and arguing. In short: the guardrails within and among conservative media and institutions are gone.
@benshapiro argued last week that cons were better at ousting bad elements (racists) than liberals. nationalreview.com/2018/08/conser…
Here are the problems with this assertion:
1.) If you have to continually purge your publications and institutions of white nationalists, that's not a sign of institutional wellbeing. "Good news: we got all of the rats out of the restaurant kitchen again!"

Lots of rich people play the game of legal tax avoidance; and that is in many ways the larger social problem. But the New York Times story accuses the Trumps of criminal tax evasion and outright fraud.
If it were merely an aggressive, well-counseled tax strategy, then the Trumps’ people would almost certainly be on tv waving around, or at least alluding to the existence of, a tax opinion on some fancy law firm’s letterhead that says it’s all in the sunny side of the law.

Let's take an honest, objective view of the whole "FBI informant" story and consider whether, based on what we know, the FBI did anything wrong.
1. Did they "plant a spy" in the Trump campaign?

Even the Wall Street Journal editorial (which is pro-Trump) says no. There was no "spy." There is an informant.
2. Then what's the difference between a "spy" and an "informant."

Massive. It's not mere semantics, as is what the FBI was investigating at the time--which was Russia, not the Trump campaign, per Asha Rangappa.
