majarete is traditionally prepared w. young white corn but each country has their variation. some add coconut milk, use rice flour instead of corn, or use cornmeal since it thickens better + may be easier to make than recipes w. fresh corn #HappyFoodmas #avaeats

grate or grind the corn + mix w. milk, then strain to remove any silk. add sugar, cinnamon, lemon peel + salt + stir over heat until it’s thickened. remove from the heat + serve chilled, garnished w. cinnamon 🇨🇺
