Colleges don’t focus admissions solely on SATs and GPA. Some schools don’t even require the SAT. They look for leadership and life experience too. I do not agree with a lot of what David Hogg stands for, but good for him for getting into Harvard.
That being said, going to an elite school shouldn’t always be the goal. Go somewhere that best suits you. Weather, class size, money, political/ religious environment, and specific programs are important too.
I’m highly considering law school and specifically Pepperdine because I love LA weather (idk if I can handle another MA winter) and because it is the number one law school for ideologically diverse professors
And obviously colleges may be more inclined to take liberals over conservatives. Sure. But thousands of liberals apply. What makes Hogg different is whether you like it or not, he has a lot of leadership experience. They want famous alumni.
