It should be noted that when the political storm passed Clinton did release the transcripts which proved to be the opposite of what her critics claimed they were.

Clinton would have served herself and her campaign better by simply releasing the transcripts and denying Sanders and his army the additional ammunition. But the greater social and political questions would have suffered.
