The amazing depth of NR’s blindness also reflects ideology. The current right wing extremist ideology is that women abuse men, not vice versa. That women, not rapists, are the ones who lie about rape. A thinly-MRA-veiled version of timeworn misogyny.
So no, this was not a rape. But stalking, being a demand for intimacy and sex that takes ZERO account of the victim’s autonomy or wishes, is often the precusor to physical sexual assault. When the victim hid in the bathroom, she wasn’t hiding from mere words.
What should we make of perp’s claim that he was disciplined on a racist basis - for being black? Couple things we should look at:

So in a democracy, rights are equal. Female student’s right to refuse a date was equal to male student’s right to ask. He did not accept that. Thus, he was rightly disciplined. NR failed to see that, bc RW has spent years promulgating a false, illogical rights discourse.
The “right” to preserve one’s own hegemony by trampling the rights of others is not properly couched as a right. Rights in a democracy are equal. NR should wipe the slime of the MRA misogyny movement out of its eyes next time.
