Thread: Scarfolk 2018 highlight. In June, the government published its civil service quarterly magazine, which included a piece about the history of state public information. Among the images of genuine campaigns, however, was a Scarfolk poster about shooting rabid children. /1 
The civil service quickly amended the digital version of the publication but not before many people had downloaded it and the story went viral. It was reported by the BBC, Sky News, The Times, RT & the Mirror and as far afield as Poland, New Zealand, Colombia and Iran. /2
What made it more funny, or maybe more scary, is that directly below the Scarfolk faux pas in the same publication, the Government Communication Service states that its social media goals are to 'deal with disinformation' & 'reclaim' facts. /3
When approached for a statement, a Cabinet Office spokeswoman admitted the mistake, but that didn't stop us from issuing the government with a cease & desist letter insisting they refrain from stealing dystopian, totalitarian ideas from Scarfolk. /4
