2/ Hmmm. The mystery deepens. As I wrote, the claim about Sarah Sanders being unable to find work was not in the Yahoo article RS linked to. But it seems like it originally was there. It was apparently removed from the Yahoo article post publication. But a syndicated version ...

First, I agree. But what I think those people are saying is really policy. That he didn't hold people accountable for the crash. That he pushed a half-measure with Obamacare, didn't act on anti-trust etc. Again, I disagree. But to get their point, it's largely abt policy.
2/ Fundamentally, Obama was a moderate liberal, who spent most of his first 2 yrs dealing w mammoth economic crisis. After that he didn't control Congress. Core Bernie advocates are social democrats and not at all institutionalists or incrementalists, both of which Obama is/was.
3/ So I think you have both a fundamentally different policy perspective as well as a more aspirational (untroubled by actual need to govern, pass laws) view of politics. I think both of those figure in, and I at least think they'd agree on the first.

It’s story time! Today, I want to tell you the tale of the time I very nearly got caught on a physical penetration test.
Target: Medium size office attached to manufacturing facility.
Goal: Gain physical access to the office area to plant a dropbox.
A couple years ago when I was first starting in infosec, I got a series of jobs from the same company. 10 of their buildings all over the country. Office buildings, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers. For those who don't know... that's a LOT of targets.

1. Ever wondered why these think tanks produce these crappy reports? (thread)
2. It used to the that Think Tanks served the function of informing government. They used to attract some fairly serious people who could make a worthwhile contribution. That is no longer the case. They're just a part of the self-aggrandising Westminster bubble now.
3. Their only objective is to stay in business - and that means keeping the donations rolling in. To do this they have to show they are active and influencing. So they produce a glossy PDF and have a press conference, inviting someone with prestige to host it. Usually an MP.

The great question before us in these challenging times is this: should the people, as they participate in democracy, be allowed to make mistakes? Let's look at this in terms of Donald Trump in America and Brexit in the UK, though no judgment is made here about either.
Rightly or wrongly, the political classes (as a whole) of both countries object both to the policy initiatives of Trump and Brexit as well as the tone and context in which these events happened. Even if they sometimes feigned support, when decision time came, they opposed both.
Whether it's immigration (where many Republican politicians found great success posing against illegal immigration only to blanche at the idea of it being throttled) or the EU (Tory MPs moaning about rule by a Brussels superstate and then supporting Remain) there's a hypocrisy.
