The Senate Intel Committee wants to interview Simona Mangiante, and has sent a formal letter requesting her testimony, per 2 family members familiar with the situation.
Investigators are interested in Mangiante-Papadopoulos not only because of her husband but because of her various activities in 2016, 2 officials told me.
Mangiante worked for Joseph Mifsud in 2016 and although she has alleged that she was not paid, investigators are interested in how she afforded her lavish lifestyle.
Mangiante received the request for an interview on December 21, and took the full 2 weeks to decide to comply before the Senate issued a subpoena.
Among the issues that investigators are interested in discussing with Mangiante:
-Her previous use of aliases
-Potential intimidating and/or threatening messages sent to witnesses
