I WANT to do a con panel on undisclosed consent issues in fantasy. Not just the sexy kind. Magic, curses, destiny, soulmates.

I got a fantasy coming in Oct and have written multiple romances taking apart power dynamic tropes. CALL ME.
Also a panel on mental health for writers that isn’t just ‘do yoga and take breaks’. Let’s talk about living with a mental illness and still producing work to build a creative career. Let’s talk about how 80% of your job is taking care of your brain space.

I know I should try be more Interesting(tm) on twitter right now, but friends, gonna be real, we're at the start of the dark time of the year where it takes everything to keep a deathgrip on my mental health or give up till April. It's hard. It's real hard.
It's not the holidays--I'm a holiday nerd--but anxiety means I got a tripwired brain and no vitamin D and a book deadline. I could disappear and not talk about it, but maybe right now is hard for you. Maybe you're walking that highwire too.

I want to say it's okay.
Just taking care of yourself can feel like a failure, but I promise it's not. Whatever you're doing right now, it's enough. Whatever you manage to do today will be enough. Brains have seasons too, fertile and fallow. And every season changes.

I’ve had feelings over the news the last couple days, but I have this fear that, like an internal scream, if I let it out once I’ll not be able to stop.

The worst thing a woman can be in our culture is angry. But that’s how we got here in the first place, isn’t it?
If I’m too loud, too angry, people might not like me. If I’m too loud you might not buy my book. Give me that job. Say something when your friend rips my bra at a party.

We’re taught that likeability is protection.
I was a kid when Anita Hill testified. I remember sitting at the kitchen table listening to my father grouse about Hill, about Clinton, about all “those women” who he just didn’t like. Couldn’t say why. But couldn’t they just be more lady-like.

I learned what likeable was.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."

Today I was thinking about what to do with my #Magic cards.

So often love of a game comes in direct conflict with dislike of playing with people who are fans of the game. This applies from everything to games like #MtG to #Overwatch #WoW #DnD AL and #pathfinder society
I'm still mad over one situation. In #DnD #LFR organized play, I playing an epic level artificer with all the warlord cheese

There was this man who constantly told me I was slow, and he was so insistent about it that he even convinced my friends at the table I was slow.
But look. I had pre-generated tables for every attack, with all normal modifiers.
I would set aside the exact number of dice before my turn, color dice coded per attack type.

I only even had dice applicable to the character. There was no die hunt
I was optimized.

Classic example of disasters in not differentiating aadhaar authentication, eKYC, eSign, eMandate. Everything needs only one OTP and no knows what transaction happens in backend. @India_Stack will be happy because all they care is volumes not user interest. #Consent #Fraud
A simple way of fixing this mess, is to not allow signatures by just sharing OTP, but involve some bit of user action and adding friction to make sure signatures can't be made with just OTP. User can send a SMS from registered mobile with SIGN <OTP_SENT_TO_ENTITY> to get SIGNOTP
What this would mean is, while signing is still happening through the same set of APIs, it codifies user action, which reduces frauds like these. eSign still has more issues, but this is rudimentary.
