a really excellent article by Charles Glass on how feckless Obama administration totally botched Syrian strategy, idly destroying country in the process.

Earnest but feckless advisers like @brhodes wanted to do "something", "anything", but their choices only made matters worse.
Glass compared Obama admin staffers to "Kennedy’s “best and brightest”" who "gave the [US] the mass atrocity that was the Vietnam War". "Obama’s oversaw the devastation of Syria."
In Vietnam era (during which I was at university), there was a serious anti-war movement. Unlike today. Architects of dubious Vietnam invasion - McNamara, Westmoreland, Johnson - were condemned to infamy. Today advocates of Syrian intervention are lionized in Beltway and media.

There was no disclosure of the deletion. As an IPCC reviewer in 2006, I asked that they show the deleted values and discuss. They refused.

Bellingcat's Eliot Higgins has been recognized
pbs.twimg.com/media/DxCMFvlW… … for supposedly using "open-source intelligence to track down identities of Russian operatives". "Open source" is a fabrication. Bellingcat actually used a highly confidential Russian passport database.
2/ for example, Bellingcat reported on "two extremely peculiar details" in "Petrov's passport file", showing those details. The Russian passport database is not "open source" but confidential personal data that was presumably hacked or stolen.
3/ Bellingcat also "obtained" the flight manifest for the flight taken by "Boshirov" and "Petrov" to the UK. This is not "open source" information but information which was hacked or stolen.

1/ I was suspended by Twitter earlier today because Bellingcat's Dan Kaszeta complained that I had breached Twitter rules against exposure of personal information in a tweet about his business relationship with #IntegrityInitiative. I appealed to Twitter .
2/ on the grounds that my tweet observing that my tweet did not violate their privacy policy and, in particular, that my observatino that Kaszeta had been employed by a "UK government propaganda campaign" was squarely within their policy for permitted speech
3/ In their suspension notice, Twitter required me to remove tweet about Kzszeta as condition of return of service. Much to my surprise, Twitter accepted my appeal and restored my account with no condition on removing the tweet about Kaszeta. Good for Twitter.

Most people fail to realize is that we’ve been living under many forms of “martial law” put in place by #Obama that are still damaging America and its citizens to this very day. For example:

OBAMA should be more mindful when accusing Trump about the press & leaks:

1. It is common knowledge among journalists that the #Obama administration has prosecuted more leakers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all former presidents combined. But few admit this truth.
2. The Committee to Protect Journalists released its first comprehensive report on US press freedom.

They discovered that the Obama administration’s policies have undermined the role of the press in three fundamental ways.
3. First, the government’s war on leaks has not only intimidated whistleblowers, it has ensnared journalists.
